bedes_chooks_2Like many people earlier this week I watched the appalling scenes of cattle slaughter on Four Corners. Since then many people in my day-to-day life who know of my commitment to animal rights have engaged me in conversation about what they saw on their TV screens. Rightly, the show has created much public debate which has forced the federal government to act and suspend the exports pending further investigations.

Personally, the thing which struck me about the whole episode is the fact that many of the people appalled by what they saw were...

It has been a while since I’ve had the time to sit down to write an update of what has been happening here. It seems amazing that we are halfway through autumn. Battery HensThis update marks a milestone for me and A Poultry Place as Saturday (January 22, 2011) marks 10 years to the day that I began transforming a five acre cleared block of land into an animal sanctuary. I have a great sense of satisfaction and achievement when I look at how things have evolved.
